Dear LifeBio,

Welcome to TLeC and thank you for commenting!

Dear Lori Hoeck,

I understand your perspective on the importance of setting boundaries with normal-functioning elders. But that's easier said than done for some people -- and in some families, too. It's a complex topic -- probably needs it's own post.

Because of my mom's short-term memory problems, I can't set boundaries with her -- she forgets them after I tell her. If she didn't have memory problems and acted the way this grandmother does, I would set boundaries on appropriate ways I will be treated. I would not accept nor tolerate abuse from a highly-functioning woman who is not exhibiting mental problems or Alzheimer's.

Dear Linda,
This is a marvelous addition to your website I know that so many people in need will be helped.
Care-giving has so many facets to it, and all of them are stressful.
I hope you get a lot of mail so we can all help each other.
Love and kisses Helene
